Tecendo Redes
A technology and digital communication learning program for young people from fishing communities on the Ceará coast.
Tecendo Redes grew out of a partnership with fishing associations on the Ceará coast. The program offers training in mobile photography, video production, podcasting and social media management — tools for communities to tell their own stories.
Over four months, young people aged 16 to 25 produced a podcast about life in small-scale fishing, a short documentary about traditional net-weaving techniques and a collective social media profile that already has more than 3,000 followers.
The project teaches technology as a language — a way to carry people's voices further.
